Florian Leitner first saw the light of day in the year 1987. After growing up in Klagenfurt and finishing school he graduated from a three year education for wilderness and survival trainer. Back to civilisation he absolved community service. At that time he came in contact with music production software. Blown away by the possibility of creating music in such a boundless way, his years of studying the art of modern music production started. After years of evolving his skills, he started to release his music on various lables under his alias ‘Double Helix’.
With all the experience and knowledge such a journey provides, he found his own approach into film music. His sound is defined by a mix of organic, electronic sound and classical elements.
2014 he won the ‘Vienna Film Music Award’.
2015 he wrote and produced the score for the stage play ‘Die Durstigen’ in collaboration with Waltzwerk.
2016 he made it under the finalists for the `Vienna Film Music Award 2016´
2016 he wrote and produced the score to a shortfilm called „Nodnol“.
